HTC One M10 rumors: Release of next flagship device purposely delayed to 2016?

HTC is expected to release another flagship device, but the thing is it may not come this year. This is with reference to the HTC One M10 (or is it the HTC 02) which may have its work cut out for itself as the company tries to recover from the sputtering impact that the HTC One M9 had.

The HTC One M9 did poorly in the market, eventually leading to HTC being removed (temporarily?) from Taiwan's top 50 index. To get back in, HTC may be carefully evaluating and studying their move and it seems to all start with the much awaited HTC One M10.

For now, there is no word on what to expect from the said device and rumors have been the only basis. For a brand that had kept in step with giant names like Samsung and Apple before, a lot hinges on the next device and could very well be the reason for the holdup at least until 2016 comes around.

So what is there to expect from the rumored HTC One M10? Well, for one, there is word that the device may likely run on a Snapdragon 820 processor supported by 4 GB of RAM. It will don a 6-inch display (1440 x 2560 QHD resolution), a 3,500 mAh battery, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and reportedly a 20.7-megapixel rear camera. As far as storage is concerned, it is believed that 64 GB and 128 GB variants will be made available.

From the initial specs going around, it seems that the HTC One M10 does stand to offer some pretty decent specs which could possibly more than make up for the lackadaisical and poor showing of its predecessor.

With some promising specs, the only thing left now is when HTC will actually lift the covers on the said device.

Although there is no official word yet, the HTC One M10 could make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next year. With regards to pricing, the HTC One M10 (or HTC 02) is rumored to be priced somewhere in between $800 to $900.
