The fifth season of "Grimm" is only two weeks away, and NBC has released the official synopsis for the new season's premiere episode. The premiere will see Nick (David Giuntoli) wallowing in grief as he tries to cope with his mother's demise and the unfortunate death of the love of his life, Juliette, while trying to accept the fact that he has fathered a child with Adalind (Claire Coffee).

Here is the synopsis for the episode titled "The Grimm Identity":

"In the wake of his mother's beheading and Juliette's death, things have never been more chaotic for Nick. Having lost so much, Nick must dig deep and decide what type of person he wants to be, while also coming to grips with fathering a child with his once sworn enemy, Adalind. His search for the truth leads him to FBI Agent Chavez (guest star Elizabeth Rodriguez) and puts him at odds with those close to him. Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee, and Bree Turner also star."

It's clear that Nick will have his hands full when the show returns to NBC, as it was previously reported that fans will get to see Adalind's child being born early on in the new season. But being a father won't be the only thing that Nick has to cope with, as in the official season 5 trailer, it looks like Nick is also going to be suspended from work as everyone around him urges him to take some time off to grieve his loved ones. But the suspension won't stop him from taking matters into his own hands as he looks for Chavez.

A new promo for season 5 sees Hank (Hornsby) talking to Sgt, Wu (Lee), and the two discuss a murder case where Hank says that another body has been found in the house across from Nick's. Nick calls and asks them if they found out where Chavez lives, as he is intent on getting revenge. But Hank tells him that he needs to come down to the station as the body that was found is the latest among a string of new murders.

"Grimm" season 5 premieres on Friday, Oct. 30 at 9/8c on NBC.
