'GTA 6' sequel rumors: Where will the new game take place?

"Grand Theft Auto 6" (GTA 6) has not been officially announced as of yet, but that has not stopped fans from speculating about what the game might feature, including where the next installment might be taking place.

One of the more interesting rumors to come out about this particular subject has been the suggestion that "Grand Theft Auto 6" may be featuring an entire state as its in-game map, according to Movie Pilot.

To this point, the franchise has already featured elements of well known states such as Florida and New York, so the leap from there to a more expansive map may not be all that significant.

Of course, an entire state inside "Grand Theft Auto 6," is hardly the most ambitious rumor that's come out about the game's supposed in-game map. Earlier in the year, it's been suggested that the next game from the franchise might even include the entirety of the United States.

Interestingly enough, Rockstar North's Leslie Benzies has indicated that they would like to present a larger world inside a "Grand Theft Auto" game in the future, Neurogadget reported, but whether or not that becomes a reality with "Grand Theft Auto 6" is still up in the air.

One thing that is unlikely to happen however is for the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise to relocate somewhere outside of the United States. Rockstar's Dan Houser has indicated that the franchise calls the United States home and that its style fits in better within the country's borders.

As for other rumors swirling around "Grand Theft Auto 6," there are still reports online suggesting Eva Mendes could be part of the new game perhaps as the voice of a new female lead character, although this one falls squarely under the umbrella of hearsay as of now.

Rockstar will most likely be announcing something new regarding the next "Grand Theft Auto" game soon, and fans will just have to wait until then to have more certainty about the title.
