"Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill was spotted with ex-girlfriend Gina Carano in Rome this week.

The pair sparked rumors of a rekindled romance after they were photographed having dinner together. The photo, which can be seen here, shows the Superman smiling as he shares a bottle of wine with his ex-girlfriend.

Carano, who is a former MMA fighter, dated Cavill in September 2012 before calling it quits earlier this year.

Cavill, 30, then dated "Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco briefly, before splitting after dating for just a few weeks.

Cavill was in Rome filming "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." with director Guy Ritchie.

Carano, 31, starred in "Fast and Furious 6". Before embarking into acting, she trained with straight Muay Thai to competitive MMA. She became the "Face of Women's MMA" and had been featured in ESPN The Magazine and Maxim.

Henry Cavill will be starring alongside Ben Affleck when he reprises his role as Superman in the upcoming Superman/Batman movie.

The Man of Steel sequel, which will be directed by Zack Snyder, will be the first film in which the DC Comics superheroes come together.

The film is being scripted by David S. Goyer and production is set to begin in 2014. Returning cast members also include Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as the Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief Perry White. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 17, 2015.
