Floyd Mayweather Jr. latest news: Calls dad immature for Adrian Broner insults

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Floyd Mayweather Sr. have had their share of disagreements but none of that had been heard of lately. Well why should it considering that Floyd Jr. has been doing great in his boxing career.

Floyd Sr. has been known to engage in brash talks and the latest target was Adrian Broner, one of his son's friends.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. said his piece on why Broner lost one-sidedly against Shawn Porter and apparently his son didn't like it.

"I'll be honest with you, I voted for Broner. I was thinking Broner was going to win. You can't keep making excuses for people. You can't keep making excuses. If he knows that there is something that he didn't do right, he knows right from wrong. If he did it wrong and got his ass whopped, that's what is supposed to happen," Mayweather Sr. told BoxingScene.com.

Floyd Jr. lambasted his dad for the criticism, perhaps a rare occurrence of the younger Mayweather defending a fighter under Mayweather Promotions.

He went on to add that his father should focus on his fighters rather than hurl verbal jabs at his fighters and stay away from the fighters under his stable.

Mayweather Jr. went on farther as reminding his father that Broner is a former three-division title holder while he wasn't.

While Floyd Jr. admits that he was disappointed at Broner's performance, he is not giving up on him.

"Things take time in boxing," Mayweather said in an interview via Yahoo Sports. "You can't rush things."

Broner has been criticized for not employing a religious approach as far as his training is concerned. Mayweather suggests that Broner train instead at the Mayweather Boxing Club instead of doing so in Cincinnati.

Despite the criticism and the continued setbacks, Mayweather believes that it could be a matter of putting things in perspective. As to how long Floyd Jr. will have that patience is anyone's guess.
