Ewan McGregor files for divorce from Eve Mavrakis after 22 years of marriage.
The 46-year-old actor's filing makes their separation official, months after it was revealed that he was dating "Fargo" co-star and on-screen lover Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
According to reports, McGregor cited irreconcilable differences for their divorce. He is seeking joint custody of three of their four children -- Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15, and Anouk, 6. Their eldest daughter, Clara, is already 21 years old and considered an adult.
Mavrakis, who filed for divorce at the same time, is seeking sole custody of their kids, providing only visitation rights for McGregor.
According to The Sun, the 51-year-old designer slammed her former husband for causing greater "upset" to the family, after the scandal that broke back in October.
"It's disappointing and upsetting but my main concern is our four children are OK," she told the media outlet.
In late October, it was also The Sun that first revealed the affair between McGregor and 32-year-old Winstead.
Images obtained by the newspaper showed the two kissing and cuddling at the Good Life Eatery in St. John's Wood, North West London. According to sources, the pair were "deep in conversation" for more than an hour before leaving together on the actor's motorbike.
While this happened some five months after Winstead announced her split from husband Riley Stearns, McGregor was still very much married at that time.
The photo seemed to have had a strong impact on their kids, particularly aspiring musician Esther.
In an Instagram clip posted just a few days before the news of the former couple's divorce came out, Esther was shown and heard performing a song that sounds a lot like a shoutout to her father.
"Seeing those pictures, they're making me cry," she sings. "I don't know how to forgive. I don't know if I can."
The song, which she personally wrote, is titled "Made You a Man."
