Who is really telling the truth - media outlets or former "Counting On" star Derick Dillard? News of his firing surfaced after he made some unsavory remarks against Jazz Jennings, the transgender star of "I Am Jazz."

Dillard, who is married to Jill Duggar, said that being "transgender" is a "myth," and it's an oxymoron for a "reality" show to feature a "non-reality." He added that he pities Jennings because the reality star was "used" to promote the transgender agenda. After his comments, some people became upset with Dillard and accused him of being a bully.

As a result, TLC network to issue a statement: "We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in 'Counting On' for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future. We want to reiterate that Derick's personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and [his] family and will continue to do so."

Now, Dillard has decided to tackle the news of his firing on Twitter (@derickmdillard). He posted the link to a Fox News article which read, "TLC cuts all ties with Derick Dillard after more transphobic comments against Jazz Jennings."

He then wrote, "Unbelievable what's considered newsworthy these days, but then again, this is how I first heard that I was 'fired.' For the record, I was never fired. I just felt it best for my family to cut ties months ago, as we are heading in a different direction."

Despite his statements, some critics continue to lambast Dillard. "Let's be real, Derick. They were paying you a pretty penny. You would have never been able to leave your accounting job if it wasn't for TLC. What direction is your family heading into, exactly? [Jim Bob] paying all of your expenses with TLC? You creating another GoFundMe account?"

In response, Dillard wrote: "Think again. I only left my accounting job because I was offered a missions job with SOS. And yes, we were commissioned missionaries, endorsed by our church. Please be careful where you get your information. There's a lot of garbage out there, that has no fiber of truth."

Another critic wrote to him: "Why do you feel the need to post this? It shows how prideful you are. Those people who support you here only do so because they haven't done research on you and your family. They don't know the awful truth about you, but we know."

Dillard replied: "All I'm saying is you need to do your research with accurate sources."
