'Duck Dynasty' star Jep Robertson reveals he was molested as a child

"Duck Dynasty" star Jep Robertson has revealed he was molested when he was only 6 years old.

In his soon-to-be released book titled "The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness," the 37-year old discusses the painful experience, and he told Entertainment Tonight about it ahead of the book's release. 

"I was 6 and it was on a school bus and it was an older girl," Jep told ET. "Back then the high school students would ride on the same bus as the grade school. There was this girl there that was just mean … I don't know, but it was a lot of things took place — scary stuff. It was tough." 

In the book, co-written with his wife Jessica, Jep wrote about the experience and revealed that at first, the unnamed girl was sweet and seemed like a motherly figure to him. She would take care of him and sit with him at the back, where he preferred to sit. But then, things took a dark turn. 

"It was awkward. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew something wasn't right," he wrote. 

At first, Jep said that he was too embarrassed to tell his family and would pretend to be sick to avoid having to go to school and riding the bus. He told ET that he didn't want his parents to think that they did anything wrong, and that it took him a long time to realize what happened and how it affected him. 

Jep admitted that what happened to him did affect him in certain ways, saying, "I was really scared of girls and just women in general, but I think God had a plan for that." 

Jep's book, "The Good, The Bad, and The Grace of God" will be available on June 23. "Duck Dynasty" returns to A&E on June 24 at 9:30 p.m.
