'Chicago Med' season 3 spoilers: Torrey DeVitto teases big 'Manstead' conflict and returning character

Torrey DeVitto as Dr. Natalie Manning and Nick Gehlfuss as Dr. Will Halstead in "Chicago Med" NBC

Just because "ManStead" finally happened in the "Chicago Med" season 3 premiere does not mean everything will be smooth sailing for Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey Devitto) and Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) for the rest of this season. DeVitto recently teased there is a major conflict playing out later that would cause a rift between the couple.

Speaking to TV Line, the actress revealed Natalie and Will would fight "big-time" specifically in episodes 13 and 14, and it would lead her character to stand up as a woman.

"In episode 13, you see them conflict big-time on how they think something should be handled, and it causes a big issue between them," she said. "And then the next episode, the one that we're actually filming now, you see Natalie kind of take a stance and own herself as a woman, and just not want to put up [with] anything anymore."

She was careful not give the specifics away, but her statement seems to suggest the conflict will touch the subject of sexual harassment. DeVito said it is an "interesting" and "exciting episode, especially with what's going on with the world right now." The actress went on to share how she thanked the showrunners for giving her such story arc, saying it is so powerful and so poignant.

"Because [for] so many professionals, there is that struggle right now," DeVitto explained. "We're going through that balance with men and women, and so to actually be able to speak on that and perform that was really exciting."

Meanwhile, she also confirmed that a familiar face will return in "Chicago Med" season 3: her on-screen son, Owen. Now a two-year-old boy, Owen may finally meet the man her mom has been dating. DeVitto did not reveal much, but she gushed about Will's effort to form a bond with Natalie's kid.

"I don't think it's easy for anyone, so that makes it fun, too. But he definitely tries very hard," she said.

"Chicago Med" season 3 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
