Actor Daniel Craig has already stated that he no longer intends on returning to the role of James Bond following the recent release of the twenty-fourth installment, "Spectre," according to IGN. If Craig truly steps down from the role it is possible that it may be passed to Tom Hiddleston, according to a report from Birth Movies Death .
The report continues to explain that EON Productions have not officially offered the job to Hiddleston, but talks have been made, indicating that the casting director and film producers may already be discussing the possibility with Hiddleston, who is most famous for portraying the character "Loki" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
IGN points out that this may be EON Production's tactic to pressure Craig and get him to sign on for at least one more movie. As stated, this is a common tactic in Hollywood, and it may make Craig to reconsider his earlier decision.
Should Craig be adamant about moving on from the "Bond" franchise, Hiddleston is not the only option to take up the mantle of James Bond. IGN points out that the producers have also approached actor Jamie Bell, who was recently seen as Ben Grimm aka the Thing in the 2015 "Fantastic Four" film.
It is also stated that one of the most popular choices from the fans is actor Idris Elba. If selected, Elba would be the first non-white actor to portray James Bond. However, Elba is currently tied down with "The Dark Tower" franchise, which has just begun production.
According to a report from Screen Rant, the issue that "Bond 25" will need to deal with is its tone. Daniel Craig's reboot of the franchise, which started with 2006's "Casino Royale," brought in a more realistic and gritty version of the character partly influenced by the tone and style of the "Bourne" franchise.
"Bond 25" may continue this style of realistic espionage action while still keeping elements of the classic James Bond tropes or change things around and reboot the series once again with something new.
