Fans of "Black Clover" are in for some unexpected turn of events in the series, as events from the manga begin to unfold and Asta and Yuno will finally be seeing the fruit of their perseverance.

Following episode 4's Magic Knight entrance examination, Asta and Yuno now undergo the challenges and are on their way to become the next Wizard King in the Clover Kingdom. The two orphans showed off their skill and even impressed the crowd in the entrance examinations, but all is not well for Asta. If the series continues to stick closely to the manga series, Asta will be humiliated greatly before being given the chance to become the next Wizard King.

Yuno, being at the top during the entrance exam, was a perfect candidate and was in demand by all the nine Magic Knight Captains, as all wanted him on their own squads. Yuno went along with the best squad, which was William Vangeance's Golden Dawn.

Asta on the other hand, experienced the opposite, as no one wanted him since no Captain wanted a mage who didn't have any magic powers at all. Fans will know that a Magic Knights true strength lies in his ability to manipulate magic. Asta remained unfazed and declared that even if he failed the exam, he would retake it again no matter how many times. This gesture impressed Captain Yami of the Black Bull Squad, compelling him to take in Asta.

Asta, now a member of the Black Bull Squad is also now an official Magic Knight, though the said squad did not exactly have a good reputation. Still, Asta was determined to excel despite the squad's less than desirable portfolio. This is because the squad's members actually cared about one another and are great mages.

Asta and Yuno, however, may become more competitive towards each other. The two orphans have the same goal of becoming the Wizard King, but only one can prevail.

"Black Clover" episode 5, "Path to the Wizard King" will arrive on Tuesday, Oct 31, at 6:25 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo.
