'Basketball Wives: LA' season 5 cast update: Brandi Maxiell's fate on the line after earning Shaunie O'Neal's ire

Will Brandi Maxiell return for the fifth season of "Basketball Wives: LA" after getting on co-star and executive producer Shaunie O'Neal's nerves last season?

Brandi, the wife of former Charlotte Hornets power forward Jason Maxiell, had a big falling out with Shaunie in the second half of the season. But the biggest blow between the two was when Brandi called Shaunie a "bitch" and told her that she has no other distinction except being "Shaq's ex-wife."

Rumors about her getting axed from VH1's reality show began to swirl when Shaunie, also known as the "boss," bluntly told Brandi "thank you for your services."

But did the "Basketball Wives" and "Basketball Wives: LA" executive producer really omit Brandi from the cast list for next season?

During the reunion special of "Basketball Wives: LA" season 4 last Sunday, the feuding co-stars had a chance to air their thoughts about each other in front of host John Salley. But when asked if Shaunie is willing to bring back all the girls next season, the executive producer vaguely said, "I think that we do need to sit down and maybe make a few changes and additions and things like that, but I can't say who will and will not be back."

If Brandi will not return next season, it means that "Basketball Wives: LA" will lose at least two girls in season 5.

The first cast member confirmed to have quit the reality series next season is original "Basketball Wives: LA" cast Draya Michele. In an interview with Juicy, Orlando Scandrick's fiancée said that she will never go back to "Basketball Wives"  but she is not closing her doors to reality TV.

"Depending on what the future brings, there might be a place for reality TV for me. If it has something to do with maybe one of my jobs or something, or you know, I don't know. Who knows? But never say never – I'll just say never to Basketball Wives," Draya said.

But it seems like Draya has already found her next gig after quitting "Basketball Wives: LA" when she got cast as Candice Koleto in "Will to Love" TV movie opposite "Sister Sister" star Marques Houston.

There is no confirmed news yet regarding Brandi's status and Draya's possible replacement in "Basketball Wives: LA" season 5.
