Were any YWAMers injured in the blasts?

As far as we are aware, no YWAMers were injured in the bomb blasts, although there were a couple a YWAMers travelling across London at that time and they arrived at their destinations quite shaken.

How can we pray for the situation?

Pray for the peace of the city. Pray for YWAM and the Church to discern the big picture for London. Pray against any negative response of anger, bitterness, suspicion and prejudice, especially in the light of the 2012 Olympics coming to London.

The religious leaders in London have joined together to condemn these attacks. Many Londoners had to walk for hours to get home on Thursday evening; mosques opened their doors to offer tea/coffee to those getting home. Pray for this open spirit to continue.

Bertin Hermo, the YWAM London leader writes, “A big thank you for your prayers they are much needed and much appreciated at this time...
“There is a strong sense that the spiritual battle is becoming more intense here in London, and that this battle is not just about the future of this city, but about the whole country and indeed further a field. I know that God's redemptive purpose for London is that this city again would recognise and fulfil its mandate to carry the gospel to the ends of the world ... this is clearly London's legacy.”

Another YWAM London leader writes, “Pray for London; it is a different place from before, people are talking to one another at bus stops ... they never did that before.”

What does YWAM England need from the rest of YWAM at this time?

We would value your prayers. YWAM London comprises a group of small, specialised teams working into the city who do not have the facilities or resources to host groups.

Is YWAM England/London involved in any sort of response to the tragedy? If so, what?

At the time of the bomb blasts the YWAM England leaders were gathered together. We spent a significant time in prayer that day – this is a wake up call for London. Local churches across the city are reaching out to those affected in their area. The YWAM teams are partnering with the local church.

Thank you for your prayers and support at this time.
