After losing his WWE World Heavyweight Championship title to his former tag team partner Seth Rollins Sunday, Roman Reigns' misfortunes continue after the company announced his 30-day suspension for violating the talent wellness policy.

WWE posted a brief statement regarding his suspension, saying:

"WWE superstar Roman Reigns, whose legal name is Joe Anoa'i, was suspended Tuesday for violating the company's talent wellness policy. The 30-day suspension, which is effective immediately, is Anoa'i's first violation of a policy that was implemented by the WWE in February 2006."

Reigns also addressed the suspension via his Twitter account to apologize to his fans and family for committing the violation. Just like the official statement from WWE, the 31-year-old wrestler did not reveal the exact reason why he was fined for violating the company's said policy.

Fans speculated that the reason why Reigns decided to drop the World Heavyweight Championship titled because he already knew that he failed the talent wellness policy test. The rumor was further ignited by Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer, saying that Reigns already knew that he would be suspended before the Money in the Bank event.

Since Reigns is one of the top stars of WWE to date, he could be the most popular wrestling superstar who was fined with a suspension for violating the company's wellness policy.

Reigns will have to miss all WWE TV events beginning this week until July 21. This means that he will be absent during the WWE Draft that will be aired live by the USA Network on July 19. But he will be able to join the Battleground event on July 24.

However, there is no word yet regarding WWE's plans for the upcoming live event on July 16, where he is supposed to face Seth Rollins in the Madison Square Garden.

The wrestler reportedly returned home in Tampa, Florida after his suspension was announced.
