'The Affair' season 2 episode 7 spoilers: Noah attempts to explain book gaffe to Alison

Noah Solloway (Dominic West) and Alison Lockhart (Ruth Wilson) will face off regarding the controversial book in the upcoming episode of the Showtime series "The Affair."

According to TV Guide, things will blow up during Thanksgiving dinner, when the expectant mother confronts her fiancé in front of the whole family. Alison is peeved that Noah used their story as backbone for his new book "Descent." Last episode, the writer agreed with his publisher Harry (Stephen Kunken) that they change the ending to a much more provocative one. In the book, Noah murdered Alison so he could have his escape.

In the promo released by Showtime, Alison will let out all the frustration she has been bottling ever since she learned of Noah's betrayal. While the family is looking forward to a good feast, she is raring to confront her fiancé about the book. She tells him that he makes her seem like she threw herself at him, when it was the opposite. Later, the two retire in the study, where they try to discuss the situation.

Noah admits to Alison that his publisher is the one who wants to change some parts of the book for it to sell. Alison accuses Noah of portraying her as a psychopath. She also asks him if he truly wants to start a family or if he is secretly dreaming of killing her to make his life easier. Noah tries to comfort her, saying the book is just fiction and what they have is reality. He even offers to cancel his book tour if she asks him to, but she declares it is not necessary. Although it looks like the two has made up, Alison's expression in the clip says otherwise.

Meanwhile, the synopsis reveals that Cole Lockhart (Joshua Jackson) is likewise angry with Noah for fictionalizing what truly happened among them. He said Alison's fiancé "twisted it into something grotesque." Cole's temper will not improve when his mother Cherry (Mare Winningham) admits a secret she had been keeping from her sons. In a separate teaser, she says they are "cursed" and that there will never be another Lockhart born into the family. Cherry claims the death of Cole and Alison's son is proof to this.

"The Affair" airs Sunday's at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
