With the principal photography for "Star Wars Episode 8" in progress, new photos from the set of the highly anticipated "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" sequel have surfaced.

On his Tumblr account, director Rian Johnson posted a black and white photo showing cinematographer Steve Yedlin standing on what is believed to be the Millennium Falcon.

The "Star Wars: Episode 8" helmer wrote a caption along the photo expressing his disbelief over how fast time passes as they work on the sequel. "Hard to believe we're wrapping up week four already, it's just flying by," Johnson wrote.

The principal photography for "Star Wars: Episode 8" commenced last month and was announced via a trailer featuring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Daisy Ridley as Rey while filming the scene they shared in the final moments of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The "Star Wars: Episode 8" cast and crew are now filming key scenes in Croatia. Several locations in the city of Dubrovnik have already been transformed to space-themed districts.

Snaps from the set can be viewed on a video below put together by YouTube user Izuzetno.com. Unfortunately, not much can be taken away from the images in terms of the plot for "Star Wars: Episode 8."

Meanwhile, a slew of photos from the set have also been shared by DuList. A bunch of the photos sees folks donning some sort of military outfits that emit a strong First Order aura.

Their look is reminiscent of the AT-ST crew first seen in "Empire Strikes Back." Multiple photos show what is believed to either be a landspeeder or podracer peeking through a blanket.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" will hit the big screen on Dec. 15, 2017. Hamill, Ridley, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domnhall Gleeson and Lupita Nyong'o are set to return and will be joined by new cast members Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern.
