"Sons of Anarchy" may have ended with its seventh season but a spin-off is indeed in the works, one that many fans can consider to be an eighth season of sorts given that it takes place in the same timeline as the original show. Series creator Kurt Sutter has now just recently shared a closer look at the new series and what it will be about.

Sutter shared an image via Twitter that showcases the Latino bikers, members of the group known as the Mayans Motor Club aka Mayans MC. "Mayans MC" is also the title of the new spin-off show and it will see Emilio Rivera reprise his role as Marcus Alvarez, the de facto leader of the group.

Fans of "Sons of Anarchy" will recall that the Mayans were pivotal to the plot of the show and have crossed paths with the Sons of Anarchy Motor Club throughout the whole seven seasons. 

"I wanted to find a strong, unique Latino voice. Because I didn't think a white guy from Jersey should be writing about Latin culture and traditions. Elgin is that voice," Sutter stated as he introduced "Mayans MC" co-creator Elgin James. James is also confirmed, in a report from Deadline, to have penned the pilot episode's script and will serve as producer.

While the spin-off will serve as an off-shoot continuation of "Sons of Anarchy," MNR Daily reports that there has been movement regarding a prequel series that focuses on the story of John Thomas Teller aka J.T. Teller, the founder of the Sons of Anarchy Motor Club. 

Earlier this year, "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam did state in an interview with Men's Journal that there are talks for actor Bradd Pitt to play J.T. in the prequel series, although there are no confirmations that any deal has been offered or taken.
