Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs, features rumor: Upcoming flagship to feature Snapdragon 823?

While it may still be too early for Samsung to come out with details regarding another flagship as the Galaxy S7 lineup is still a new release, eager fans are already speculating on the next Samsung Galaxy Note phone. The latest rumors suggest that Samsung will be featuring a next-gen Snapdragon 823 processor in the Galaxy Note 6.

According to SamMobile, reports out of China indicate that as Samsung is planning to place the Galaxy Note 6 on the market as a professional-level phablet, the tech giant is considering a 64-bit, quad-core Snapdragon 823 chipset for the device. In addition, it is also said that the next Galaxy Note may carry as huge as 8GB of RAM.

However, the industry follower, known to closely observe Samsung's lineup, said that a Snapdragon 823 processor for the Galaxy Note 6 may be implausible, given that the company has just assembled its top-tier homegrown chipset, the Exynos 8890. Moreover, the Snapdragon 823 isn't really an improved Qualcomm SoC as it is said that the chipset is only equivalent to a Snapdragon 820, although running at a higher clock speed.

Previous speculations said that the Galaxy Note 6 will have 6GB of RAM but now it is said to carry 8GB RAM. Whichever it may be, it clearly shows that initial expectations place the Galaxy Note 6 to be superior to many of today's flagships. Rumors also suggest the Galaxy Note 6 will be a phablet, complete with a dock.

However, all speculations on the Galaxy Note 6 remain hearsays as the South Korea-based company is not expected to address rumors until the latter part of the year. According to observers, Samsung may be planning to launch the Galaxy Note 6 toward the end of 2016, in August or September at the earliest.
