On 3rd February, thousands of people packed into London's Trafalgar Square at noon to listen to the speech from the Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela. The passion of Mandela moved the hearts of many and ignited a high spirit among the crowd to fight against the poverty of the world.

The event was hosted by the UK-based anti-poverty campaign "Make Poverty History". Nelson Mandela exerted a powerful pull; his speech explaining that poverty is man-made and should be overcome by the united actions of all people of the world.

On the eve of the G7 industrialised countries Finance Ministers meeting at the weekend, Mandela urged the leaders to take the first step to eradicate poverty through formulating a policy of justice.
