"Outlander" gave fans an early Christmas present this week as stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe participated in a Q&A, which was livestreamed on Friday, Dec. 18, on the show's official Facebook account. The livestream was taken on the set of the hit Starz series as production is underway for the show's second season.

For the Q&A, Heughan was dressed as his character Jamie Fraser and he wore a white shirt, a vest, and a kilt. Balfe appeared to have finished filming her scenes as she was dressed in a white sweatshirt, jeans, and her hair was pulled back in a ballerina bun.

Balfe gave a filming update as the actress said that they were "filming the last day of the penultimate block," which are episodes 8 through 11 of the upcoming season. They are also currently waiting for the episode 13 script.

When asked what Christmas gift they would like to receive, the two burst out laughing and Heughan said, "The Outlander season 1 DVD, which we got for a present from production!"

The first trailer for the new season was released last week, which delighted fans as the show continued to give new updates each week. Heughan revealed that the season 2 trailer was supposed to show some outdoor scenes shot in Scotland, but the weather was not ideal and Balfe added that it was raining as usual when they shot the scenes.

The second season is set both in Scotland and Paris as Jamie and Claire mingle with the French aristocracy as they look for Bonnie Prince Charles in hopes of stopping the Jacobite rebellion and preventing the killings at Culloden Moor.

Heughan said that he enjoyed filming in Prague, where the exterior Paris scenes where shot.

"It was quite dramatic wasn't it? And looks spectacular," the actor said.

The stars also said that they were very happy and surprised with how well the show was received by viewers.

"We had no idea how big this was and how lucky we are to be able to do this job. It's fantastic," Heughan said.

"Outlander" season 2 returns to Starz in 2016.
