The much-anticipated intergalactic open world adventure game "No Man's Sky" will allegedly be released this year. Several speculations from major CD distributors and online retailers are saying that the PlayStation 4 edition of the game will come out sometime in May.

On the other hand, its PC version will also be released, said Hello Games' representative Sean Murray. The game developer's representative stressed that the studio will not neglect the PC platform of the game despite earlier statements made about their plans of releasing the game in a more "console-y" mode.

"I actually got in a bit of trouble for saying that we wanted the game to deem really console-y," Murray stated. "We've always had PC in mind but in my head (console-y) means solid frame rate and immediate controls. I think a PC game can be console-y and it's intended as a compliment but I get in trouble for saying it."

In "No Man's Sky," players will have the opportunity to roam around the game's massive universe. They will also have the chance to meet each other along the way.

Based on the game's description, "No Man's Sky" is a procedurally generated open universe where players can assume the role of a planetary explorer using a spacecraft which lets them explore the surface of several planets. They can also intermingle with the planet's flora and fauna and engage in a battle with antagonistic entities as well as travel to neighboring planets.

"No Man's Sky" was first announced during last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, where it managed to earn the Best Original Game as well as the Best Independent Game accolades given by a panel of game critics. It also received the Special Commendation for Innovation during the same event.

Hello Games still needs to come out with an official statement for the game's final release date.
