Former Nigerian striker, Benny Akwuegbu, now plays for ‘Sportfreunde Siegen’ in the German 2nd division. But he remembers his 1st international against Tunisia in 2000:

Yes I was very happy when I played for the first time for Nigeria. It has been my dream to play for the national team and so the first time I played I was happy, and I thank God for making it possible.

The first Goal I scored, I was so happy. Now I have scored 5 goals for Nigeria, and I have played about 17 times.

But more important to Benny than his football is his faith in JC.

We need Jesus to protect us as we can’t have everything. Maybe you go in the field, and you need God to protect you from injuries and for sickness, and something like that. If you don’t have Jesus you don’t have anything. Where as if you have Jesus you have everything!
