Moto 360 vs Asus Zenwatch specs: 2014's best smartwatches in the market compared

A lot of wearable devices have been released in the market in the past couple of years, and it seems like the production of these wearables won't be slowing down anytime soon. Because of this, manufacturers are continuously coming up with new and improved devices that offer a mixture of function and style.

This year alone, both Asus and Motorola came up with two of the most popular smartwatch devices available in the market today. Both offer functional uses without sacrificing style, which is a must for all wearable devices today.

But which of the two smartwatches is worthy of the consumers' hard-earned money — the Asus Zenwatch or Motorola's Moto 360? Here is a look at the comparison between the two wearable devices in the market today.

Design

Released sometime in late October, the Moto 360 smartwatch exudes an impressive huge clock face design that provides a better view of the Android Wear notifications. It also has a relatively thick 11.5-millimeter stainless steel face, and has an almost round display with a slight cut located at the bottom of the smartwatch.

On the other hand, the newly released Asus Zenwatch may not be as chic as the Moto 360 at the first glance, but it has a style of its own. It also has a stainless steel body, but it comes with a two-toned rectangular shape face with curved corners and a slightly curved screen. Also, the Asus Zenwatch is 18 percent thinner compared to the Moto 360.

It uses an OMAP 3 processor, and it has an internal storage of 4 GB as well as 512 MB of RAM. The device runs using a 320 mAh battery that can reportedly last for an entire day.

Meanwhile, the Asus Zenwatch is equipped with a 1.63-inch screen that features 320 x 320 pixel resolution. It is powered by an impressive quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor that works with a 512 MB RAM. It also has 4 GB internal memory, and can be connected to other devices through Bluetooth 4.0.

The Moto 360 is one of the most sought-after smartwatches in the market today, with its reasonable price tag of $249. On the other hand, the brand new Asus Zenwatch can be purchased for only $199.
