MacBook Pro 2016 release date: Laptop rumored to launch at WWDC in June

According to a new report, the long-rumored MacBook Pro 2016 will be made official on June 13, during this year's Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC.

There's no confirmation from Apple about this yet, but looking at the Cupertino-based company's MacBook Pro release and upgrade history, this launch timing is possible.

It is quite a challenge making a pattern out of the release schedules, but it can be remembered that it was during the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2012 that Apple introduced the third-generation Retina MacBook Pro.

Over the years, the software giant has upgraded the notebook. The last and most current iteration was released March and May last year.

This could hint that Apple will be using the Worldwide Developers Conference to introduce the long-awaited MacBook Pro 2016.

The new MacBook Pro was expected to launch at the Apple Media Event last month, but the company only focused on the Apple iPhone SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Worldwide Developers Conference is the perfect place for Apple to show off the MacBook Pro 2016, which is expected to come in two sizes as always – 13 inches and 15 inches.

Both MacBook Pro units are said to be powered by Skylake, the latest and most powerful processor from Intel. With this under the hood, Apple will be able to do wonders in the device.

Skylake will help improve the battery life of the MacBook Pro 2016 as well as its overall performance. With low power consumption, the laptop won't need a fan to cool it up.

This would mean that it will be slimmer, sleeker and lighter. Most importantly, the processor will make MacBook Pro 2016 unit nippier.

The notebook is expected to come with a Retina Display with new OLED screens, a Force Touchpad, Touch ID fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port.

Whether or not MacBook Pro 2016 will see the light of day in June, only time will tell.
