Looking for a motivation to share the gospel? Here's a good one for you

We have all been commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to preach the gospel, but many of us aren't doing it. Some of us say that we're "not anointed," "not ready," and "don't know what to say." Apparently, when these reasons appear, it all boils down to this: a lack of motivation.

A real motivation

Are you looking for a motivation to share the gospel? Then this article hopes to give you one – even just one – so that you would start sharing. Are you ready? Here it goes:

"We were commanded, not given the option, by God to preach the gospel. We will be called to account for our obedience to this command." (see Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 12:35-37)

The message of the gospel was entrusted to those who are saved after hearing and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Apparently, we all know that sin leads to spiritual death and hell, and only the saving work of Christ on the cross can save all of us from that doom. It's our responsibility to love the people that God loves, and bring the message of the gospel to them.

It's our responsibility

During His earthly ministry, Jesus was able to show the people how much God loved them, and what God wanted for them. He destroyed all of the devil's works in the lives of everyone who believed in Him. He nailed all the record of charges that were against us, thoroughly dismantling the enemy's power to kill, steal and destroy our lives (see Colossians 2:13-15; John 10:10). His work of salvation was finished on the cross, and His resurrection gives us hope (see John 19:30; 1 Corinthians 15:12-28).

But why are many living defeated lives? Many are living defeated lives because they haven't thoroughly understood and lived out the power of the cross of Christ. And many are unable to understand it and believe in Christ because they haven't heard of it and haven't seen its power working in the lives of believers.

Romans 10:14 says, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

It's our time

Friend, it's our time to spread the gospel. The Lord Jesus already ascended into heaven and gave to us the wonderful task of spreading the truth of His saving work in our lives.

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation...' After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it." (Mark 16:15, 19-20)
