Season 4 of "Longmire" has just been released on Netflix but there are already talks about season 5. It is still unclear if the streaming giant will renew the series but Collider has noted that TV shows moving to a new home are likely to be given a chance to air one final season to wrap things up and nothing more.

In an interview with the aforesaid publication, Robert Taylor, who plays Sheriff Walt Longmire, revealed how the latest season of the series will determine if there are more stories to tell and if there will be another season.

"There are some very dramatic developments in Season 4. If something is resolved, perhaps the manner that it's resolved might blow something else apart. There's a lot of big stuff going on," Taylor said.

He added that "certain threads are going to come to their conclusion in Season 4 of Longmire, but like everything else, there are going to be repercussions and ripples from actions and reactions that are going to play out and present new storylines and new issues."

Meanwhile, according to Carter Matt, the way the new season was made, it feels like it won't be the show's last. Still, the possibility of a fifth season is also too tough to call since Netflix has yet to show this season's ratings and overall performance.

Netflix has released season 4 and it is safe to say many fans have binge-watched all its episodes. For now, the lack of news regarding a renewal will allow fans to savor the season, which brings along exciting stories and twists for the characters.

Carter Matt, however, surmises that it is highly likely that there will be "Longmire" season 5 but Netflix will not announce it straight away.
