'Jane the Virgin' season 2 episode 16 spoilers: Jane and Rogelio disagree on wedding plans

 The CW

Now that things have settled down a little bit on "Jane the Virgin," season 2 episode 16 will see Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Michael (Brett Dier) begin making plans for their wedding, but as shown in the promo trailer things won't go as smoothly as they figured due to a sudden flood and Rogelio's (Jaime Camil) meddling.

According to the official synopsis from TV.com, a flood will suddenly hit Jane and Michael's wedding, which will disrupt their current wedding plans, forcing them to think of something quick and out of the box. In the promo trailer, Jane reveals she wants a very limited number of guests to keep the wedding small and intimate.

That doesn't sit well with her father Rogelio as he wants to invite some of his celebrity friends. Rogelio is, after all, a well-known telenovela star from Venezuela and wants to bring some of his famous friends over. However, only 15 seats are allocated for him in the wedding.

Jane is then shown telling Michael that she won't let anyone they haven't met attend the wedding, which leads to Rogelio bringing Jane over to the studios to meet his friends. Of course, as a standard for this series, nothing goes right and Jane is shown distraught with the people her father wants to bring to her wedding.

Another issue arises when Jane informs Rafael (Justin Baldoni) that he doesn't like Jane's plan of moving to a new home that is 45 minutes away from him since it would make it more difficult for him to visit their son Mateo. It is hinted that he and Jane will have to come up with some kind of compromise for this arrangement to work.

Petra (Yael Grobglas) is also stated in the synopsis to struggle with motherhood, continuing her plot arc from Chapter Thirty-Seven.

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 episode 16, "Chapter Thirty-Eight," will air this March 28.
