iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note Edge comparison: Which phablet to purchase this month?

Tech giant Apple just announced its entry in the phablet category, iPhone 6 Plus, at its launching event last Sept. 9.  The device is expected to battle head on with Samsung's recently released phablets – Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge.

The Cupertino-based company surprised many Apple fans when it made a big jump in terms of screen size. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a huge 5.5-inch screen display, quite a difference from the 4-inch panel of the older iPhone. But how does it compare with one of Samsung's phablets?  

Below is the comparison between the new iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge:

Screen Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge packs a 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The screen of the Note Edge is curved on the side. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, comes with 5.5-inch screen display with Full HD (1080 x 1920) pixels resolution.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is powered by a quad-core 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. iPhone 6 Plus is powered by an A8 processor with 64-bit architecture, which is is reinforced with an M8 graphics processor.

Internal Storage

The Galaxy Note Edge is available in 32GB- or 64GB-storage variants and comes with a micro SD slot that can manage up to 64GB for additional storage. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a huge 128GB internal storage.

Operating System

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge runs with the latest 4.4.4 version of the Kitkat OS. Apple's phablet runs with the new iOS 8.

Camera

The Samsung phablet includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 8x digital zoom, plus a 3.7 MP front-facing camera. Meanwhile, iPhone 6 Plus retains its old shooter of 8 MP with Dual LED flash, paired with 2.1 MP front-facing camera with Full HD video capture.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge comes with a 3,000 mAh battery, while the iPhone 6 Plus is supported by 2,915 mAh battery capacity.
