Can homosexuals still be saved from living a life of sin?

Popular Catholic Internet evangelist Michael Voris revealed for the first time that he is a living proof of how God can rescue a person from homosexuality.

In a recent episode of his online show called "The Vortex," Voris said he was once actively involved in homosexual behavior "over a prolonged period of time." He revealed that for years, he cohabitated with gay men.

"I will now reveal that for most of my years in my thirties, confused about my own sexuality, I lived a life of live-in relationships with homosexual men," Voris said.

"I have said many times — in public — that I was in a state of mortal sin, and had I died, I would have been damned," he added, as quoted by LifeSite News.

The Internet evangelist, who has actively exposed errors and falsehoods even those propagated by Catholic bishops, said he reverted from a sinful sexual lifestyle, although he did not give specific details.

He also emphasised that he has undergone a "reversion of faith" ever since he met Jesus Christ and studied His Word.

"Since my reversion, I abhor all these sins, especially in the world of the many, many other sins I have committed having nothing to do with sexuality," said Voris, who founded the religious apostolate called "Church Militant."

He further revealed that he made this revelation after receiving information that "the New York archdiocese is collecting and preparing to quietly filter out details" of his past life "with the aim of publicly discrediting" him, his apostolate and his work.

"From the time of my return to the Faith, I have wanted nothing than for others to experience the joy and life-giving truth of the Catholic Church," said Voris, "to know that the dead can be raised, to deeply consider what is truly meant by 'With God all things are possible.'"

The evangelist also attested to the fact that God can "restore" individuals even from a "formerly shattered, confused sexuality."

"It does not matter — whatever the issue, whatever the sin, whatever the depth of the deepest darkness, there is nowhere God cannot come to you and rescue you," he said.
