A recent survey done by Fandango reveals that the most anticipated film this fall is "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2." The survey, according to Variety, took a poll from a thousand movie goers for films set to be released from September to November in which "The Hunger Games" came out on top with 36 percent of the total votes. 

This is to be expected given that this is the final film in the franchise. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" also topped the survey back in 2011. The final "Harry Potter" was able to earn well over $1.3 billion and this is partly because it was the final installment in the series. It is likely that the last "The Hunger Games" film will follow suit.

There is also the fact that the film stars Academy Award-winning Jennifer Lawrence who is also the highest paid actress of the year. While not all films with big stars draw in a large crowd, Lawrence's name is a big reason why the "Hunger Games" films have succeeded. 

Following "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" is the upcoming James Bond film starring Daniel Craig as the titular 007 agent in "Spectre," with 26 percent of the total votes. "Spectre" is also likely going to be Craig's final film as James Bond and the massive success of "Skyfall" may be reason for the fans' anticipation. 

The final three spots in the top 5 are occupied by "The Martian," "Bridge of Spies," and "Black Mass" with 11 percent, 10 percent and 9 percent, respectively. 

However, as pointed out by Variety, the survey does not include the month of December since it belongs to the winter survey, thus disqualifying "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" from the list. Also, when Fandango did the list for the most-anticipated film of 2015 last December, as reported by THR, "Mockingjay Part 2" took the third spot right behind "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." 

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" will be released this Nov. 20.
