HOPE has put together free resources for churches planning a special lunch to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Big Jubilee Lunch takes place on 3 June and has the official backing of the Queen.

An estimated six million people will sit down to a delicious lunch together for the occasion, which is being co-organised by the Eden Project.

HOPE wants to see churches use the event as an opportunity to bring the community together.

The website features a video showing how they can do this, as well as sketches, assembly plans, royal quizzes and activity ideas.

A downloadable 'Big Thank You' sheet can be used for guests to write their messages to the Queen. Another downloadable sheet, 'My Prayer for Queen and Country', gives children the chance to write out their own prayer for the Queen.

Churches are being encouraged to register their Big Jubilee Lunch online at www.thebiglunch.com

Roy Crowne, HOPE’s Executive Director, said: "The 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations give churches an opportunity to help build community relationships, plus lots of ways to help people see that that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a party, a banquet, a big family celebration."
