'Grey's Anatomy' season 11 spoilers: Meredith and Derek to have major fight over careers

It seemed like the relationship of our residents, Meredith and Derek, is on the rocks as they were reported to have a major fight next season.

According to the spoiler chat held by TV Guide, there will be a major drama between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) in the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" season 11. The report added that the reason behind the fight is Derek's desire to further his career while Meredith sits on the back burner.

"He thinks his career is more important than hers. She has kids and a husband and he has a big career and she has ambition. Suddenly, she's found herself in the backseat," executive producer Shonda Rhimes said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) will have a new love interest next season. Dr. Owen Hunt was very frustrated that Cristina Yang left as he was still very much in love with Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). However, he may find a new love next season, although it may not happen very soon. It will be like when Izzie (Katherine Heigl) left Alex (Justin Chambers). The love and passion between the two run deep and Owen needed some time to heal the wounds and to move on.

Speaking of Alex, he will have a personal turmoil as he will fight for a position in the board. This means that Alex will clash with Bailey (Chandra Wilson) because of the post in the board. It was reported that Alex will make sure that Bailey will have to put up a fight for the said position.

"Although Shonda Rhimes said Alex won't back down from becoming a board member, he will struggle with the decision to edge Bailey out. In fact, he'll have to do some major soul-searching," Shonda Rhimes revealed in the spoiler chat.

The Season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" will be back on air on September 25, at 8PM/7PM central.
