Google Nexus 6 phablet to be made by Motorola?

Latest reports claimed that Motorola will be working on the rumored Google Nexus 6 phablet.

It has been a while since reports about the Google Nexus smartphone emerged online. Surprisingly, rumors claimed that the upcoming Google handset will be a tablet-smartphone hybrid with massive 5.9 inches screen display.

According to Android Police, Motorola will take the helm in making the next Nexus smartphone. The company is allegedly working on a device dubbed as Shamu named after the famous killer whale in Sea World. The phone will come with a 5.9 inches screen display and a fingerprint sensor, but the screen's resolution and the rest of the hardware specs and features remain unknown.

As usual, Google remained tight-lipped about its plans and devices. There were also speculations that the handset will be launched in November and will arrive at major US carriers.

Previous reports boldly claimed that Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is in charge of making the upcoming Nexus 6 smartphone after an LG exec denied that the company is working on a Nexus.

LG's global communications director, Ken Hong, revealed that LG knows nothing about the status of the next Nexus smartphone. Moreover, he also has little knowledge about the rumored Android Silver program. The LG exec continued that the company has not been called to work on any Nexus device.

The South Korean company was in charge of making the two previous Nexus smartphones. The good business partnership of the two companies gave rise to Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. The two smartphones turned the heads of many due to a good combination of fair specs and features as well as an incredibly cheap price.

Meanwhile, previous rumors claimed that Google Nexus 6 will pack high end specs that includes a 64-bit version of its Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz; 5.2-inch full-HD, curved LCD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass; 3 GB RAM; 13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera; Bluetooth; NFC; Micro-USB; Wi-Fi; and 4G. However, Google has not confirmed any of the aforementioned rumors. Google Nexus 6 release date will most likely take place in October or November.
