Global Day of Prayer London Gathering 1,000 Voice Choir

Christians from across London are being invited to become part of the special choir that is being formed to sing at the huge Global Day of Prayer London event taking place at West Ham United F.C. on Sunday 27 May 2007.

|PIC1|The call invites 1000 singers to become part of the massive choir, which will represent the broad range of church denominations, streams and different cultures that comprise the Christian community in London and the south east.

The choir will be directed by Karen Gibson, a committed Christian and founder of gospel outfit The Kingdom Choir.

Gibson has a vast range of experience and has worked with BBC TV, BBC Radio 2 and 3, as well as the famous Songs of Praise show. Gibson also runs 'choraleworkshops' in the UK and abroad, which helps to facilitate church, school and community choirs.

She has expressed her excitement at the prospect of leading the Global Day of Prayer Choir: "I love teaching people how to sing, and it is a great honour to be directing the choir at one of the biggest inter-denominational prayer meetings held in this UK.

"I am sure that this will be a momentous and historical event for Christendom and that much will be impacted by our time of prayer and praise together. I invite any believer who wants to serve the Lord to be part of this great choir."

The Global day of Prayer Mass Choir will be an integral part of this major prayer initiative and will bring extra volume and strength to the broad range of other artists already lined up to take part in the Global Day of Prayer London event which includes Noel Robinson, Tim Hughes, Muyiwa, Graham Kendrick and the All Souls Orchestra.

Among the organisations supporting the Global Day of Prayer London 2007 are: The Church of England, the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church, the Catholic Church in England and Wales, the Pentecostal Movement, the Evangelical Alliance, the African Caribbean Evangelical Alliance, Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, Christian Aid, Christian Today and Transform Newham.

The event will see tens of thousands of Christians unite in London on 27th May from 2pm for an afternoon of mass prayer and worship.
