Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World" will be airing new episodes until 2017 for its third season. It is still unknown if the show will return for another season, though. Cast members are hoping that they will all be back for a fourth.

Cast members and fans alike have expressed their interest for another season of "Girl Meets World." But it remains unclear if Disney will keep the show on its lineup. One rumored reason for a possible cancellation is that the network is having second thoughts about the storyline of the upcoming season. The characters are already in senior high school, and they will be moving on to another stage of their lives. This is where the problem lies, the new storyline may not fit the network's programming.

This made a fan named Ashley Carter to start a campaign on Change.org, which aims to let Disney know that fans would like to have a fourth season for the series. At the moment, there are more than 16,000 who have signed up the petition. It is aiming to have 25,000 signatures before Carter forwards the signed petition to Walt Disney.

The online petition will also be sent to Freeform TV, which is airing its prequel show, "Boy Meets World." Fans are hoping that if the original network decides not to renew the show, Freeform could eventually continue it.

Rowan Blanchard, who plays Riley, believes that the show has an important story to tell, and she is open to the idea that the show could continue on with another TV network.

Meanwhile, Parent Herald reported that Riley and Lucas (Peyton Meyer) could possibly break up when the show returns with its "Girl Meets World of Terror 3" episode. Riley, Lucas, and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) are said to play different what-if scenarios in the upcoming episode. With the idea out in the open, Lucas–Maya and Riley–Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis) fans cannot hide their excitement already.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 episode 15, "Girl Meets World of Terror 3," is scheduled to air on Oct. 14 on Disney Channel.
