After Disney released the "Frozen Fever" special alongside the live-action "Cinderella" movie last month, the film animation studio finally announced that the 2013 blockbuster movie will have a sequel soon.

Variety revealed that Disney talked about the plans for the animation film's sequel during the annual shareholders meeting of the company in San Francisco.

The announcement came from the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios John Lasseter.

"We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters," The Disney executive said. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

But since the announcement was only made very recently, the much anticipated film is not expected to come out in theaters anytime soon.

However, Crossmap posted several theories about the film's alleged plot, including the one claiming that Queen Elsa's sister Anna also possesses her own magical powers. According to the theories, Anna might have something that could represent the power of Spring, since her elder sister Elsa has the power of Winter.

There are also reports that a new villain will also be introduced in the soon-to-be released "Frozen 2" movie.

In addition, multiple reports claim that all the original cast members expressed their intentions to return to the franchise, including Idina Menzel as Elsa, Kristine Bell as Anna, as well as Josh Gad who portrays the role of Olaf.

Meanwhile, iDigital Times reported that making a sequel of their hit film will be a big gamble for the animated movie studios, since they rarely make a second installment of any of their films. Disney only made a handful of sequels in the past, including "The Rescuers Down Under" for the film "The Rescuers." However, it cannot be said that the Disney sequels managed to be a huge success.

Will "Frozen 2" surpass the expectations?
