Although official word has yet to be made, a match between Canelo Alvarez and Miguel Cotto is widely believed to be taking place this coming November.

What has yet to be determined is the actual day of November and the venue for the said fight. Aside from that, the fight is as good as done, according to multiple sources.

Alvarez has been preparing for the fight since June, although nothing had been developing at the time yet. Confident, however, that the fight would materialize, Alvarez started doing light workouts to prepare him for his next fight.

The fight is believed to be something that can possibly outdo the disappointing May 2 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Even though that remains to be seen, what is sure is that the said tiff will not be expensive to watch.

Such was batted by Golden Boy promoter Oscar Dela Hoya, saying that this is one fight that will be pretty much be affordable and something that is expected to be filled with action. Apparently, Dela Hoya is singling the fact that both Alvarez and Cotto are not afraid to mix it up inside and trade blows once the bell rings.

As to who has the upper hand? While there is no clarity on who between Alvarez and Cotto would have an advantage, there is one who has made a bold prediction and he is siding with Alvarez to pull through.

That one is Abel Sanchez, the trainer of Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin.

Sanchez believes that the Mexican boxer's youth and hunger are two factors that will guide him to victory over Cotto. And assuming he does win, Sanchez believes Alvarez will be a full-blown middleweight come mid-2016.

If that should be the case, it seems that Sanchez is expecting Alvarez to be the next opponent of Golovkin.

But before thinking that ahead, Golovkin needs to take care of business first. The Kazakh knockout artist is set to fight as well on Oct. 17 against International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Davie Lemieux, a unification bout. Golovkin is favored over Lemieux,  although the latter should not be taken lightly.
