The multiplayer beta for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will be available starting August 19. It will be initially made exclusively for Playstation 4, according to Treyarch, the game's developer.
The game is expected to eventually be made available for the PC and Xbox One later on. The game remains in development for all platforms, and Sony and the Playstation were able to snag the early beta position only because of the contract terms between Activision, the game's publisher, and Sony, according to Polygon.
Treyarch did not reveal how long the beta will be available, so those seeking a firsthand look before "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is released can pre-order the game now.
Meanwhile, more details about the Zombies mode inside "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" were recently unveiled at Comic-Con.
According to Engadget, Treyarch gave fans a sneak preview at the new Shadows of Evil content in the game. Shadows of Evil is basically a co-op mode found inside the game, but it does stand out quite a bit for its stellar collection cast members. Stars such as Jeff Goldblum, Ron Perlman, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough and Robert Picardo are all part of the new game, adding some mainstream appeal for other gamers.
IGN also reported that even fans of the game can be an official part of it. By donating $10 to the game's new fundraising campaign on Omaze, players will earn the chance to become part of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" as one of the zombies. The winner will be flown to the game's studios in Los Angeles and will then be digitally rendered into a zombie on the spot. Players who offer a larger donation will be given more chances to earn the coveted zombification.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is set to be released on November 6.
