Bluetree were in Nashville last week for their first ever GMA Music Week - the Gospel Music Association's weeklong celebration of Christian music.

And the Belfast-based modern worship band had cause to celebrate, joining the week as the bestselling new artist of the year.

The band's critically acclaimed album, God of This City, has held the No 1 spot in Christian retail sales charts in the US for four consecutive weeks.

And during the week, things got even better, with Bluetree's radio single and title track to its top selling album becoming a top 20 hit at multiple radio formats, moving up at R&R to No 18 on both the AC Monitored and Indicator, No 20 on the CHR and No 19 on the Soft AC / Inspirational charts and continuing to climb.

The radio and chart success meant demand was high for them during GMA Music Week, with the band conducting no less than 40 interviews.

Title track God of This City was written by Bluetree during a mission trip and inspired by a live worship set they did in a bar in the red light district of Pattaya, Thailand, that doubles as a brothel.

“God Of This City” has become a message of hope for the people of Pattaya and beyond and is being sung in churches around the world. Chris Tomlin liked it so much that he did a recording for his Hello Love album, while "God of This City" has become the theme of the latest Passion project and tour.

For a limited time, Bluetree is giving away a free download of the song “Each Day” from the God Of This City album. The free song can be found at www.givmusic.com/bluetree. There is also a compelling acoustic video performance and explanation of the song, “God Of This City”, by Bluetree lead vocalist/guitarist Aaron Boyd on the site.
