Bible Pathway Ministries is releasing a monthly publication, which is being promoted as a being a Christ-centred Bible devotional commentary. It has been designed to help first-time readers as well as teachers, ministers and all who desire to understand the Word of God better, and in particular to reach out to the young people and children of Africa.

Karen Hawkins from Bible Pathway expressed that more than 65-percent of people who come to the Lord, do so before they become adults and one third of the world's population is under fifteen years. Reaching the youth has become very challenging, especially in areas where AIDS has killed so many people.

"The Children are not in conventional homes. So we are working with orphanage ministries throughout Africa and India to reach them," Hawkins says.

The work of Bible Pathway Ministries has the aim to support indigenous churches and bring hope to the children. "We send the Bible teaching material, and we send the Bible Pathway, and we send the Bibles for the people to instruct the children."

Many churches in Africa are having to get by using meagre resources, for example a church in Zimbabwe with a thousand members was reported to have only four Bibles in the whole congregation. Many other churches as well are surviving with just minimal items and in some deprived countries, church members carefully tear apart Bible so that they can take just a few pages home and read for themselves.

There is a big need shown through many stories of these churches and specially ones where the AIDS crisis has arisen. A generation of orphans has been created and there is very little outreach to the children.

"The important thing is helping people know God as their Creator, that He has a purpose for their lives, even though they're in pretty desperate circumstances. It's not an accident that they're here, and God wants to know them and wants them to know Him."
