'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' plot spoilers: Neil deGrasse Tyson on film's plot

Batman v Superman Warner Bros./DC Entertainment

The first official teaser trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hit IMAX theaters nationwide last April 20. More details on the film's actual plot was recently revealed by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

In the teaser trailer, there are voice-overs airing their views about Superman. Some people think of him as a hero while others, such as Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, states that the Man of Steel is a menace. Tyson's voice, according to Batman-News, is one of those many voice-overs heard at the beginning of the trailer.

According to Tyson during his appearance on "The Daily Show," Superman is painted more as the film's villain. He explained that the Kryptonian is depicted as a super-being with no one to answer to, while Ben Affleck's Batman directly answers to the Mayor of Gotham City. Batman answering to the authorities reassures the public that he isn't a menace but more of a tool that the people can rely on.

"At the end of the day, what might matter is the public reception of the superhero's conduct. If Batman executes our wishes in the city, and Superman does whatever the hell he wants... that's a conflict." Tyson stated during the interview.

According to a report from Den of Geek, one of the main issues that Superman will have to deal with is the destruction of Metropolis City during the final act of "Man of Steel." How this event will affect the public's perception of Superman will be addressed in "Batman v Superman."

Den of Geek also hints that there could be another villain working behind the scenes. While Lex Luthor is the only confirmed villain in "Batman v Superman," the site explains that it is possible that Brainiac could be the one responsible for pitting Batman against Superman. Apparently, in this film universe, detective Jim Gordon has already passed away, and fans speculate that Jared Leto's Joker may have been behind Gordon's death.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will see the two superheroes clash on March 25, 2016.
