Fans of the hugely popular anime adaptation of "Attack on Titan" would be thrilled to know that the continuation of the saga will premiere early next year.

According to Yibada, the second season of the "Attack on Titan" anime series has been slated for a February premiere date. It will air in Japan via Japan Television, and global fans can also watch it online. However, there is still no specific date for the airing itself, but reportedly, the second season premiere will be close to the launch of a new "Attack on Titan" game.

Meanwhile, the industry follower also noted that while fans are anxiously waiting for the second season to premiere, some of them might get a bit disappointed with how the anime adaptation will go. Reportedly, the second season of "Attack on Titan" will only loosely follow the original manga in terms of plots and characters.

While the original manga still continues, the anime adaptation may end after the second season. Although the second season will still continue the ongoing saga of conflicts between human and Titans, the upcoming season could be the last in the series. According to VCPost, one of the deviations of the anime from the manga is that season 2 may already see the death of one of the main characters, Eren Yeager. Apparently, Eren will battle against Captain Smith and will receive life-threatening injuries that may possibly lead to his death.

These two deaths will allegedly draw the anime series to a close.

Meanwhile, if the anime and manga will intersect in plot, it will be the death of Levi Ackerman. Crossmap listed Ackerman's death as one of the spoilers for the manga, possibly occurring in Chapter 73. Levi will reportedly die while trying to save the members of his squad – Armin Arlert, Eren Yeager, and Mikasa Ackerman.
