Speculations suggest that Xiaomi is planning to enter the U.S. market soon and may even use its next flagship, the Mi Note 2, as a launching line for the new market.

According to Bloomberg, the China-based tech maker has already confirmed that it will be branching out and sees the U.S. market as a lucrative region.

In a prior interview, the company's vice president, Hugo Barra, revealed that the U.S. market "is a market that we definitely have in our sights."

The company executive also stressed that the plans to enter the western shores has been being looked at previously, though it is only around this time that the momentum is favoring Xiaomi.

Barra added, "We will lead with social media, with the channels that allow us to get in touch with the young generation that are enthusiastic about new technology. We are definitely going there."

Should Xiaomi decide on entering the U.S. market, it will need a launch pad to breach the region, long dominated by Apple and Samsung. Since it is rumored that the market shift will be soon, speculations suggest that Xiaomi is eyeing its next flagship, the Mi Note 2, as a lineup product for the U.S. market. The new flagship will definitely hold its own against other top-tier competitors.

Though Xiaomi has yet to confirm the specs sheet and features for the next flagship, it is already expected that the Mi Note 2 will come out with top-tier details. Rumored specs and feature include a 5.9-inch display, the Snapdragon 821 chipset, and a full lineup with the base model having 4GB of RAM, while the top-tier model will feature a 6GB one.

Expanding outside of its Asian sphere is actually to Xiaomi's interest. Although the company focuses much of its market to China, India, and Indonesia, Xiaomi already has a global presence, even landing at the top five tech makers recently. However, in the face of stiff competition, Xiaomi will definitely have to expand in order to recover from its slump. Recent figures show that in its home market, Xiaomi has already landed at the number four spot, as fellow China-based tech maker Huawei claims the top spot.
