It is expected that Xiaomi's next flagship, the Mi Note 2, will be unveiled anytime soon. Meanwhile, supposed press renders and specs have been reportedly leaked online prior to the flagship's debut.

According to Android Pure, a Weibo post has published some teaser images for the upcoming Mi Note 2, along with its flagship specs. Although it remains to be seen if the press images will become official, the photos consolidate the details and features that have been previously rumored for the upcoming flagship.

The images show that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have a 5.7-inch display, with dual curved edges. Although the post did not show it, speculations suggest that the 5.7-inch version will have 3D Touch-like features and will have 2K resolution. Meanwhile, it seems that this variant is a top-tier model of the Mi Note 2 since other rumors say that the flagship lineup will be launched in two versions. The base model of the series is supposed to have the same dimensions of the 5.7-inch display. However, although having the same dual-curved edge, the base model will only have full HD resolution and no 3D Touch.

The specs list for the Mi Note 2 included in the leaks also spells out the top-tier version. Reportedly, the 5.7-inch variant will run on a step-up Snapdragon 821 processor, and the chipset will be paired with 6 GB of RAM. The base model, on the other hand, will have 4 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 820 chipset. Storage options will also be available, starting at 64 GB. It is unclear if the two versions will have the same 16-MP dual-camera setup for the back, and 5-MP selfie shooter. It seems likely that the top-tier version will have the dual camera setup, while the base model will have a regular camera.

As to when the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will surface, rumors say that it is scheduled for launch on Sept. 24.
