Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date, specs: bezels are nearly invisible in new leaked images

Featured in the image is the Xiaomi Mi Note Xiaomi

It is already confirmed that the new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be launched on Oct. 25. Meanwhile, supposed leaked images showcase its near-invisible bezels.

Reportedly, some images out of China-based social media site Weibo highlights the ultra-thin bezels featured on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. However, as a social media post, its authenticity could not be verified to date. If the images turn out to be true, then the Mi Note 2 is looking to be one of the releases with the largest panel-to-display ratio, with most of the front panel dedicated to the screen. However, the images — if they are real — also point out that Xiaomi may have done away with front sensors and the selfie camera.

The ultra-thin bezels may also be featured on a flexible display. According to 9to5Google, a video ostensibly showing an upcoming Xiaomi flagship (unnamed) but running on MiUI 8 has been posted online.

Meanwhile, although Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Mi Note 2 will launch on Oct. 25, confirmed specs and details have yet to come out. However, a number of supposed leaks have already surfaced. Allegedly, the Mi Note 2 will come out with a base model that has 4 GB of RAM and a top-tier variant with a 6-GB one. Both versions will run on the new Snapdragon 821 processor. There are also rumors that Xiaomi may opt to come out with a premium version of the device, with massive 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of onboard storage. All the iterations will feature a 5.7-inch, dual-edge curved screen. However, the lower versions of the Mi Note 2 will carry full HD display, while the premium variant is supposed to feature a Quad HD screen.

Other supposed specs for the device include a 4,000 mAh battery and an ultrafast fingerprint scanner. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is also supposed to come out with a dual-cam, 12-MP setup for its main camera.
