Xiaomi has recently released its new concept phone, the near bezel-less Mi MIX. Supposedly, the new flagship will be a full lineup, with another smaller variant coming out soon.
According to GizmoChina, leaked images have supposedly showcased the new Xiaomi Mi MIX. Interestingly though, the flagship highlighted in the images only has a 5.5-inch display. This hints that there may be a new version in the works — Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX together with the Mi Note 2 as true phablets with 6.0-inch screens.
The industry follower adds that as per the supposed leaks, the new Mi MIX will serve as a smaller version of the new flagship. Should this prove true, it means that most of the design, hardware specs, and features for the new iteration will remain similar to the already-launched phablet version. The Mi MIX launched with a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage.
Phone Arena reports that the specs for the new iteration may have already been confirmed, as additional leaks include a screenshot of the settings tab for the new flagship. The new alleged leaks also include the smaller Mi MIX running the same MiUI 8 interface from the original flagship. Meanwhile, it is believed that Xiaomi will launch the flagship as the Mi MIX Nano, instead of the expected "Mini" moniker.
As a smaller variant, the new Mi MIX is still expected to feature the same near bezel-less display as the original Mi MIX has. Based on the images, the new Nano version has a similar 90 percent screen-to-body ratio that is a signature feature of the lineup.
As to when fans can expect the new addition, the China-based tech maker has yet to come out with confirmed details, though with Xiaomi already on a roll, it is said that the Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano will be released before the year ends.
