'Forza Horizon' and 'Castle of Illusion' added to Xbox One backwards compatibility games list; list now includes more than 230 games

Aside from "Call of Duty 2," it is confirmed that the backwards compatibility program for the Xbox One will get a longer list as at least two new games get added to the lineup.

Microsoft has confirmed that two new triple-A entries, "Forza Horizon" and "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse," will be added to the backwards compatibility list. In addition, "Forza Horizon" can be downloaded for free until Sept. 15, as it is part of the September lineup for the Xbox Games with Gold free games list. Meanwhile, "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse" will be delisted on Sept. 2. This means that players can buy it until that date, or those who have already owned the title on the Xbox 360 can download it again for the current-gen console. However, starting September 2, "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse" will not be available for new purchases.

The two new additions follow closely after Microsoft has also added "Joust" and "Call of Duty 2," bringing the total of the backwards compatible games list to 230 and counting. The former is a port of the original 1982 classic, while the latter is the original Xbox 360 take by Infinity Ward, released in 2005. Meanwhile, since the original game has been added to the list, most fans are looking forward to another franchise installment, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" as well as "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2." The two series games are fan favorites, with Xbox One players requesting that they be added to the lineup before 2016 closes.

The Xbox One backwards compatibility program initiated late last year. At the start, Microsoft has added games to the BC list on a monthly basis. However, the company decided to improve the release early this year, with games being added to the lineup as soon as they are available.
