WWE Summerslam 2014 is just around the corner - two weeks away to be exact - and there's a new fight announcement that has been made. AJ Lee and Paige have been confirmed face off in a rematch on SummerSlam, according to CageSideSeats.
This rivalry started when AJ Lee came back after a hiatus from the WWE. During her first match comeback, she immediately won the WWE Divas Championship from Paige. Since then, things between the two Divas has gotten sour.
According to WWE.com, they learned about the SummerSlam rematch days after Paige shoved AJ Lee at SmackDown, which injured Lee. The Black Widow and The Diva of Tomorrow are really getting into it. Paige looks unhinged lately, with her demeanor changing from nice to angry and back to nice again. This is something different from Paige as she is normally considered to be a role model for fans.
Back in July 28, "Paige called AJ crazy" on Raw, reports WWE.com. This led to a wild brawl between the two. Then last August 1, Paige went to Smackdown and came uninvited after Lee and Rosa Mendes' fight. Paige ambushed Lee and shoved her off the canvas onto the blue brand's set. This injured the Divas champion, who had to be carried off the ring with a stretcher and medical personnel attending to her.
Yet after this move, Paige said in an interview that she still loved Lee and even called her her best friend. Paige also denies that she is the cause of the injury and says everyone is just "overacting."
Meanwhile, the other confirmed matches lined up for the WWE pay-per-view extravaganza includes John Cena vs Brock Lesnar (for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship), Chris Jericho vs Bray Wyatt, Stephanie McMahon vs Brie Bella and Rusey vs Jack Sagger.
WWE SummerSlam 2014 will air live on the WWE Network and at the Staples Center Los Angeles, CA, on August 17, Sunday, at 8 p.m. ET.
