WWE rumors: Kalisto dethrones Alberto del Rio by winning U.S. title

It seems that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans didn't have to wait for an official WWE pay-per-view (PPV) to see another title change.

This time around, it was the U.S. title that changed hands. Just last week, that bit involving Kalisto's upset win over Alberto Del Rio sent some signals and the understanding is that the title would be on the line once the 2016 edition of the WWE Royal Rumble comes around.

Apparently, that is not the case, with Kalisto surprisingly snagging the title from under the nose of Del Rio at WWE Raw.

It was one of those fights wherein everyone was caught unaware. When the match was made, many felt it would be Del Rio getting even but as it turned out, a new champion would come out of the shadows.

Many were stunned at the sudden title change, the second one on a regular WWE show following Roman Reigns triumph over Sheamus at a previous WWE Raw show some weeks back.

Kalisto holding the title doesn't really come as big news for the WWE Universe right now, seemingly forgotten with Del Rio hooked up deep with the "League of Nations".

So in a way, the crowing of a new champion makes a bit of sense as Del Rio wasn't really making waves with the title on his waist. But the question is, will he get a chance to reclaim the title?

Although such would not be surprising, Del Rio's fellow member from the League of Nations seems to be taking interest — Rusev.

Rusev tweeted he was going for the title so whatever happens from here will be pretty much interesting. Recall that the Bulgarian Brute was a former U.S. title holder before losing it to John Cena.

So with that said, it will be interesting who between the two brothers from the "League of Nations" will try and win the title back from Kalisto. Any guesses?
