"Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It-Ralph 2" is set to be released on Nov. 21, a couple of months later than the initial release date of spring of 2018.
Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz return in the upcoming sequel of the hit 2012 computer-animated film "Wreck-It-Ralph." This time, however, Ralph and Vanellope will leave the confines of the arcade to venture into the world wide web.
The details of the story of "Ralph Breaks the Internet" surfaced during Disney's D23 Expo last summer. Disney is the producer of the computer-animated film. According to Slash Film, Ralph and Vanellope decided to set out for the internet after Vanellope's "Sugar Rush" game broke down. The only way the game can be fixed is by finding a replacement part from the internet.
The two will not be alone in their quest, however. "Ralph Breaks the Internet" will introduce a new character to help them navigate their way in the wide web. Yesss, an algorithm and at the same time the editor of the website "Buzzaholic" who sports blue hair and hippie clothing made of fiber optics, will give them a lending hand. Yesss will be voiced by "Empire" star Taraji Henson.
Yesss will take Ralph and Vanellope to OhMyDisney.com, the official Disney fandom site where they will encounter famous Disney characters. According to the same article from Slash Film, the duo will face different iconic Disney characters, from Tinker Bell to Stan Lee of Marvel, and, of course, the well-loved Disney Princesses.
Vanellope will be accepted as part of the Disney Princesses after passing a test from the Princesses — they will ask her if a "big, strong man" has entered her world and Vanellope, believing they mean Ralph as the "big, strong man," will say "yes."
The original voices for the Princesses — Ming Na Wen as Mulan, Jodi Benson as Ariel from "The Little Mermaid," Paige O'Hara as Belle from "Beauty and the Beast," Linda Larkin as Jasmine from "Aladdin," Idina Menzel as Elsa and Kristin Bell as Anna from "Frozen," Irene Bedard as Pocahontas, Anika Noni Rose as Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog," Mandy Moore as Rapunzel from "Tangled," Kelly Macdonald as Merida from "Brave," and Auli'i Cravalho as Moana — will be reprising their roles for the movie.
